Meet the Team

Andrew Montlake

Director (Brand, Marketing & Communications)

Coreco’s Press Spokesperson began his journey with an hons degree in Economics & Politics, (an Economist with an appreciation of the lighter side of Karl Marx), leaving Leeds Metropolitan University with a spring in his step and dreams of either changing the world, becoming a rock star or running an advertising and PR agency.

After a brief sojourn with an Advertising Agency and a direct marketing company, Andrew started in the mortgage industry in February 1994, at John Charcol where he became part of the top performing team.

In June 2000, he joined Cobalt Capital and grabbing the chance to combine mortgage broking with his first passion, helped to successfully grow the brand from scratch as Head of PR and Marketing.

In April 2009 Andrew became one of the main founding directors of Coreco, determined to help show that mortgage brokers can be different.

Andrew’s role at Coreco is to maintain and promote the Coreco Brand, as well as dealing with all marketing and PR. As the Press Spokesperson, he is regularly quoted in the National Press with appearances on National TV and Radio. More commonly known as “Monty” he is the author of a highly acclaimed Mortgage Blog, was voted “Mortgage Personality of the Year” in 2008 and won the award for “Best Press Spokesperson” 2011 at The British Mortgage Awards.

Carrying on the winning theme Andrew also won the “Best Marketeer” Award  British Mortgage Awards in 2014 and again in 2016.

Andrew is also a proud Board Member of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries, (AMI) working to “promote the provision of good advice as an essential part of a healthy market for mortgages” and as a cheerleader for the Mortgage Industry as a whole.

Andrew continues to work at the coal face, writing mortgage business, looking after clients and is also responsible for all lender liaison.

He still clings tenuously on to his rock star dream singing in a dad rock band, playing football at a very low level and writing songs and silly stories for his young children.
